To maintain good water quality, the Lerma quality team monitors water quality daily. Incoming water undergoes initial testing for conductivity and pH. 然后，进入的工艺水要通过去离子系统。 Wastewater is processed and tested in the on-site water treatment facility where a variety of key parameters are tested. 废水由第三方处理设施检测，并每月报告，另外每年还要进行一次检测。

At the plant level, the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) department is responsible for wastewater testing, compliance, effluent and legal wastewater discharges. The SHE manager is ultimately responsible and the plant manager is accountable. Additionally, the SHE manager is responsible for water monitoring requirements, per Ecolab's internal global supply chain environmental policy and any applicable external regulations.

- In 2019, to contribute to the health of important water-related areas, 100 volunteers from Ecolab’s Lerma and Cuautitlán Izcalli, Mexico, sites partnered with The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and ProNatura to plant 2,000 trees in the community of San Andres Totoltepec in Mexico City.

- In 2025, associates and their families participated in a conservation and cleanup activity at the Lerma River, one of the most important waterways in Mexico. Thirty-five volunteers worked to remove 200 kilograms of solid waste from the riverbanks. The Lerma site also organized two environmental educational rallies conducted at a primary school in Lerma, focused on raising awareness about water conservation and environmental responsibility among children. Additionally, volunteers supported the improvement of the school's facilities by cleaning common areas, painting, pruning gardens, and general site conditioning.
- The Lerma site's 2025 initiatives also included constructing new locker room facilities to improve site coverage and ensure appropriate access to women's changing rooms, strengthening WASH conditions at the site. Furthermore, the on-site pollinator garden was expanded. This expansion increased green space and further supported biodiversity and water conservation.
On top of local water stewardship efforts, Ecolab’s global giving program assists the company’s mission to conserve and protect freshwater through partnerships and additional projects with TNC and the Project WET (including the Clean and Conserve Education Program and Discoverwater.org).
